It is with deep sadness and a feeling of great loss that we remember the life of our Queen who has died.

Throughout her long reign, she was an outstanding example of service to our nation and the countries of the commonwealth. She has also been greatly admired and respected by leaders of many other nations.

She has known times of great sadness both within her own family and because of national and international tragedies and disasters.

She will be remembered with gratitude for wise words, for her encouragement, for offering hope and for her faith.

Now, as we mourn, we offer before God those who are closest to her; those within her family, her advisers and household staff. They will feel this loss most deeply.

As the people of this and many nations pause to honour the Queen, may we give thanks to God for all she has done and been for us. And may we resolve to be as steadfast as she was and seek to serve others as she did.

AMEN
