Hanifin Hall is a fictional stately home nestled in the stunning, snow-covered countryside, serving as the beautiful setting for the Christian BSL Carol Service 2025.
The hall is named with the kind agreement of the family of the late Jerry Hanifin (17th May 1942 – 28th March 2019). Jerry was a true legend of the Deaf community, once described as the “Laurence Olivier of British Sign Language.” A respected teacher at the Royal School for the Deaf Derby until his retirement in 2007, he was also a member of the Deaf Comedians performing group, and a committed Christian.
Remembered as a unique storyteller who could make any narrative come alive visually, Jerry had a profound impact on generations of Deaf people and hearing allies alike. We dedicate this setting to his memory.
